Woody Allen in Rome with his Jazz Band

March 31st, 2010, Woody Allen and the New Orleans Jazz Band will be in concert at the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome.
This time, Woody Allen returns to Rome not to present his latest film, but to enliven the audience with his performances as jazz clarinetist: together with his New Orleans Jazz Band, will present a selections within a repertoire of over 1200 pieces, suggesting an energetic series of improvisations, involving the public in a pleasant alternation of emotions.
The great American director will be accompanied on the stage by extraordinary musicians, as the musical director Eddy Davis (banjo), Simon Wettenhall (trumpet), Jerry Zigmont (trombone), Conal Fowkes (piano), Greg Cohen (bass), John Gill (drums) .
Besides being a fine and beloved filmmaker, Woody Allen has always been a fan and expert of jazz. The repertoire of his band is strongly linked to music that Allen has loved and which has drawn inspiration from his childhood, but there are also references to jazz in Chicago and thirties.
