“Museum of summer. When art becomes entertainment” will take place in Rome from the 1st July to the 13th September. This great festival will be rich in events and shows, which will take place in museums and art galleries. Opening in the evening hours will be also granted.

The event is promoted by the Cultural Policies Department of the City of Rome in cooperation with Zètema cultural project.
The events scheduled for this summer are:

• readings and performances outdoors, most of those based on unpublished works;
  
• concerts of classical and contemporary chamber music, performed in the courtyards of Roman museums;
• extraordinary openings of Ara Pacis, Mercati di Traiano and many others archaeological sites, usually closed to the public. There is the possibility of guided tours, also in the evening;
• Evening activities also in Technotown and at Planetarium.

The archaeological sites involved are: Ara Pacis, Mercati di Traiano, Musei Capitolini, Museo di Roma in Trastevere, Planetarium, Technotown di Villa Torlonia, Auditorium di Mecenate, Excubitorium della VII Corte dei Vigili del Fuoco, Insula di San Paolo alla Regola, Ipogeo di Via Livenza, Stadio di Domiziano.
