Until January 6, in occasion of Christmas festivity, the City of Rome organizes “Roma città Natale. Una festa unica al mondo”.
For the first time cultural and enjoying events are co-ordinated by public institutions to increase the quality of the proposal giving magical moments to Romans and tourists. In every part of the city the atmosphere will be magic with creches, music, traditional songs, concerts, children games, exhibitions and Christmas decorations. Special openings of museums and charitable initiatives will be organized.
A brilliant proposal can be the concert “Happy Christmas for Rome”, with the presence of the Spanish soprano Montserrat Caballè, at “Santa Maria Madre del Redentore” church.

For tourists there is the convenient card ROME PASS that costs 20 € and permicts the free entrance at the first two museums visited, free use of public transports and reduced price for the following museums or archaeological sites.

Until January 25 the National Gallery of Modern Art is going to host the exhibition “Giorgio de Chirico and Greece. A journey through memory”, organized by “Giorgio and Isa De Chirico Institute”.
This artistic event in Rome exposes more than 100 artworks realized by Giorgio De Chirico, the most important exponent of metaphysics painting, in occasion of the anniversary of 30 years by his death.
The influences of the classical world and an innovative pictorial language melt to create a final work that is not a simple imitation, but it is an imaginative reinterpretation. So the paintings ispired by Michelangelo, Tintoretto and Rubens are eleborated in metaphysics sense, with the contemporaneus presence of myhological theme and classical figures.
The exhibition, organized in six sections, is opened by Tuesday to Sunday from 8,30 a.m. to 7,30 p.m. The full entrance is 9 €.

Until January 6 the “Sala del Bramante” in Rome is going to host “100 Creches Exhibition“.
Every year, with Christmas festivity, the fascination and the tradition of creche revive, as genuine element of Christmas celebration, in different places as habitations, schools, churchs and offices.
Since 1976 “100 Creches Exhibition” exposes more than 200 creches, coming from Italy and other 25 countries of every continent. People can admire classical Neapolitan creches from 1600, Roman creches from 1800, figurines realized with precious metal or rejected materials, man-height figurines or miniatures. There are different works, but these pieces have as common point the values of peace and brotherhood spread by Christ’s Nativity.
The exhibition is accompanied by an interessant Workshop for children from 4 to 11 years, that personally realize a figurine of creche with the guidance of specialized staff.
The exhibition is opened from Monday to Sunday from 9,30 a.m. to 8p.m. (until 10 p.m. on December 25, 26, 27 and on January 3,4,5). The full entrance is 4,50 € (5 € on Saturdays, Sundays or public holiday).
