Until June the 7th 2009, at Museo Fondazione Roma (ex Museo del Corso) will be the first Italian exhibition devoted to Japanese painter Utagwa Hiroshige, the most important painter in the XIX century, rapresentative of engraving school UKIYO – E.
The exhibition is entitled ” Hiroshige. Il maestro della natura “and presents 200 beautiful works created by Japanise artist who inspired modern artists, like Van Gogh, Manet and Monet.
Hiroshige was a painter and engraver very prolific, and his artistic production counts 4000 polycrome prints and images for different kinds of books: prints of actors, warriors and paramours. But in particular way he created images of nature (flowers, animals and landscapes). His art is for domestic environments, that reflects the nature in complete harmony even if it is described in blizzard or in sandstorm.
