From 8th April to 5th July the Capitolini Museums in Rome have to host the exhibition “Beato Angelico, l’alba del Rinascimento”.
Giorgio Vasari said about him he painted after his prayers, obtaining the right inspiration for a metaphysical idea about nature.
Fra’ Giovanni da Fiesole of Dominican Order, called Beato Angelico, was operative in the middle of the Fourteenth Century and scored two famous pontiffies as Eugenio IV and Niccolò II. They leaded him to Rome in the last decade of his life, where he died and was layed in Santa Maria Church, above Minerva.
This exhibition is organized to celebrate the 550 years from the painter’s death. In this occasion a lot of paintings never exposed in the past, from “Trittico della Galleria Corsini di Roma” to “Predella della Pala di Bosco ai Frati“, will be exhibit, completely restored thanks to the funding of the Comitato per le celebrazioni.
The exhibition documents the whole activity of fra’ Giovanni da Fiesole, from his youth, inspired on the elegances late-gotic, to his final roman period, characterized by classic oeuvres. This is an important occasion to relive the amazing Renaissance Period and to spend a few days in Rome.
If you look for an accommodation you have to profit by the Hotel Diplomatic: it is situated in front of Città del Vaticano, near Castel Sant’Angelo, Trinità dei monti, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.
